Step 1: Check the Samsung TV’s AirPlay setting

Find the TV’s model code and check its manual or Samsung’s AirPlay guidance. Samsung lists support on selected models from 2018 onwards; the year alone is not enough. Its documented menu is Settings → General → Apple AirPlay Settings. Other generations arrange these settings differently.

If the TV has no supported AirPlay feature, this iPhone route will not work through its other screen-sharing setting. An Apple TV receiver can supply AirPlay, but that involves extra hardware. Use the compatibility checker before changing your setup.

Step 2: Enable AirPlay and check the network

Turn AirPlay on in the television’s AirPlay settings. Connect the iPhone and TV to the same home network. Keep the TV awake while choosing it. A guest Wi-Fi network may isolate clients even when both devices display the same network name.

Different 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands are not automatically a problem: the important requirement is that the devices can communicate across the local network. Check access-point or client isolation if discovery fails. Temporarily disconnect a VPN that blocks local traffic, then restore it after the comparison.

Step 3: Select your file and mirror the player

  1. Open Cast to Your TV in Safari and select one local video, image, audio file or PDF.
  2. Allow automatic preparation to finish, then tap Screen mirroring.
  3. Open Control Centre → Screen Mirroring and select the Samsung TV. Enter the television’s passcode if requested.
  4. Return to Safari and tap Play on this iPhone.

The final Play tap starts the local player. Keep Safari visible and the phone unlocked. The website cannot confirm which AirPlay TV you selected. For caption files, open Subtitles before playback; see supported subtitle formats.

Choosing Original quality keeps source detail where preparation permits. It cannot force lossless or 4K HDR screen mirroring. Check quality and buffering if the picture changes during playback.

Troubleshooting and ending the session

  • TV missing: confirm its AirPlay support, enabled setting and reachable network before restarting the phone or TV.
  • Picture but no playback: return to Safari and press Play. Try a short, compatible local file to separate decoding from mirroring.
  • Protected streaming is black: streaming services may restrict screen capture. This local-file player does not remove DRM; use the service’s supported TV app.

Pause the player, then end the system connection with Control Centre → Screen Mirroring → Stop Mirroring. Your selected media is not uploaded to our service. Browse device guides for LG, Roku or Apple TV instead.
